France’s La Poste issued an overprinted sheet of stamps after Paris was selected to host 2024 Summer Olympics.

A 73¢ stamp with a se-tenant label was issued in May to promote France’s bid to host the 2024 Games. The good news was announced on 13th September by the International Olympic Committee in Lima, Peru. On that same day, La Poste released the overprinted version of this stamp in a sheet of 24 stamps and labels.

The stamp depicts a Parisian scene with the Grand Palais and the Eiffel Tower in the background. The Olympic bid slogan reads, “Venez partage” (Made for Sharing).

The overprint includes the date “13/09/2017", the place, “Lima”, and outline images of the Eiffel Tower and the Basilica Cathedral of Lima.

Only 10,000 sheets of 24 stamps each were overprinted. Non-overprinted versions of the stamp can also be purchased.
