The Royal Canadian Mint released some artistic and innovative collector coins this month. The country’s famous ballooning festivals are celebrated on the "2017 $20 Fine Silver Coin – Hot Air Balloons". The coin features a colourful scene of a balloon flotilla. One of these balloons features a red and white maple leaf design flying over a Canadian landscape.

The latest kilo silver coin, the 2017 $250 Fine Silver Coin – Maple Leaf Forever, also features a maple leaf in an antiqued finish. The 2017 $50 Fine 5 oz Silver Coin – Canadian Icons, depicts red-coloured symbols of Canada in a maple leaf pattern. A five-kilo 2017 $500 Fine Silver Coin – Canada from Coast to Coast to Coast showcases Canada’s diverse regions. Both these coins celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Canada.

2017 $10 Fine Silver Coin – Learning to Play series is made of coins that depict each of Canada’s NHL teams. They show young children wearing the jersey of their favourite team. Their parents are shown teaching them hockey at an outdoor location.
