Heritage offered a collection of Proof Franklin half dollars at ANA World’s Fair of Money Platinum Night auction on 2nd August. 14 issues were produced between 1950 and 1963. Not many of them feature a Deep Cameo contrast between the fields and devices.A type two 1956 Franklin Half Dollar, graded Proof 69 Deep Cameo was offered for $3,525. The 1956 Franklin Half Dollar was very well produced. Many of them feature strongly frosted devices. Two reverse subtypes were used in 1956. One of them has four feathers on the eagle’s left wing, and the other common type has three feathers. The offered Type Two coin is among 76 finest known examples graded. It was the also the cheapest coin in The Blue Ocean Collection. The design elements of the offered coin are thickly frosted white with watery mirrors.
