New Banknote Series Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Central Bank of São Tomé & Príncipe

The Central Bank of Sao Tome and Príncipe released a new currency series including six new banknotes and five new coins on 29th August, to celebrate bank’s 25th Anniversary. The banknotes have been designed and printed by commercial banknote printer De La Rue.The banknote design represents wildlife of Sao Tome e Príncipe. The country’s bank has partnered with De La Rue since 1977. The new notes will also come with improved security features like Depth Image Hologram and StarChrome Colour Shift Thread. 5 and 10 Dobras are printed on De La Rue’s Safeguard polymer material which is not only durable but is also counterfeit-resistant.
