A 26-year-old businessman named Sumeet Mahendra celebrated the 51st year of Ganesh Sthapna at Marwadi Chowk in a very interesting way that numismatists would find amusing. He decorated his Ganesh Pandal using 5,100 coins belonging to different eras. The coins were worth over a lakh and he collected them over a period of one month. From half anna to modern coins, from Mughal to Shivaji coins, he had them all studded on the floor, ceiling, and walls around the Ganesh idol.

The family is known for choosing unique themes for decorating their Ganesh Pandals every year since 1966. Visitors flock in large numbers, including district guardian minister Madan Yerawar and other VIPs to take a look at this pandal. A unique message is given every year by the family using Ganesha decoration. This year’s theme was 'GST' and the slogan used was 'Ganesh ka sandesh tax bharo' which translates o “Ganesha Says Pay Tax”.
