India and Canada to Release Joint Issue Postage Stamps on Diwali

India and Canada have officially agreed to jointly issue a set of two Commemorative Postage Stamps on the theme of "Diwali". The stamps would be released on 21st September 2017. Department of Posts and Canada have already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this joint issue.India and Canada share the same values of democracy, pluralism, equality for all and rule of law. Apart from that, there are many Indians who have settled in Canada which strengthens the bond between both the countries. “Diwali” is a cultural theme for both Indian and Canada. Both countries have openly celebrated the festival in its truest spirit for several years now and there could not have been a more suitable theme for this join issue.
