It stands tall, makes hissing sounds before biting or spitting its fatal venom over four meters towards the attacker’s eyes. It generally attacks small mammals, birds, or lizards. It can cause blindness or paralysis with fatal consequences in humans within a matter of a few hours. It is believed that Egyptian queen Cleopatra committed suicide after being bitten by an Egyptian Cobra. The Egyptian Cobra is also known as the Uraeus in Egyptian Mythology and is considered to have mystic powers. In Hinduism, a Cobra is depicted wrapped around the neck of Lord Shiva.

Two coins issued in the same series depict Peacock and Wasp Spider. The recently issued coin has a concave coin that is created using Smartminting technology. The coin also showcases selective gloss and amazing colouring.
