Sale of Ellis Island Quarter Rolls and Bags to Begin on 28th August

The sale of America the Beautiful Quarters Program coins celebrating Ellis Island will begin on 28th August.The reverse features an immigrant family walking towards Ellis Island with the hospital building in the background. Other inscriptions include "ELLIS ISLAND," "NEW JERSEY," "2017," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The obverse depicts the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan.
Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints have struck the coins for the rolls and bags. Coins from all three mints will be included in the three-roll set. Coins with the "S" mint mark will not be circulated, unlike coins with “P” and “D” mint marks.
A wrapping on the coin rolls has texts that read "Ellis Island"; "NJ" for New Jersey; face value and contents; and "P," "D," or "S" for the mint marks. Texts on a tag of the canvas bags read "Ellis Island," "NJ," and "P," "D," or "S."
