Sale of Palladium American Eagle bullion Coins for Authorised Purchases to Begin in September
2017-08-03 Thu
The sale of American Eagle Palladium coins to authorized purchasers will start in September. Just like all American Eagle Bullion coins, these new ones will also not have a Mint Mark and will be struck at the Philadelphia Mint. A Proof version with the same design, offered in 2018, will be struck at the West Point Mint with the W Mint mark. The mintage limit would be high enough to meet the demand. The American Eagle palladium coins will have different designs based on earlier designs by an artist and sculptor from the early 20th century.
The obverse will feature high-relief version of sculptor Adolph A. Weinman’s Winged Liberty Head design for the 1916 Dime. The reverse would be a high-relief version of the 1906 reverse Eagle design that Weinman created for the American Institute of Architects’ gold medal.
