To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Walt Disney’s fifth animated feature film Bambi, which premiered in London on 8 August 1942, Perth Mint has brought out some gorgeous coins!

The film which is based on the book Bambi, A Life in the Woods by Austrian author Felix Salten is a very beautiful Disney Classic. It tells the story of a fawn, Bambi, growing up with his friends – Thumper, Flower and Bambi’s future mate, Faline – to become the Great Prince of the Forest.

These coins are struck to Proof Quality in 99.99% of Pure Gold and only 1000 specimens will be released. The coin's reverse design features a delightful, classic engraved image of Bambi with his forest friends Thumper and Flower and the obverse of the coin features an effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2017 year-date.

The coin is issued by New Zealand Mint as legal tender for the Pacific island of Niue.
