The castle is on a small hill facing River Attert. A 10 metres wide bridge provides access to the castle. A 25 metres tall keep is situated at the centre. The 12th-century castle was built when the lordship of Useldange was created. The dynasty died in the 13th century. Rodemacher owned the castle in 1415 after getting married to Irmgard de Boulay. The war between the castle and its chapel were damaged during the war between France and Burgundy 1479. William of Nassau-Vianden inherited the castle but sold it to François-Sébastien Baur of Everlange in 1674. The chapel was destroyed in 1903. American immigrant Mrs Kuhn-Wolff, originally from Useldange bought the castle in 1924. The walls were consolidated in 1934 and a modern property was built over the ruins. It has now become the town hall and is being restored by the State of Luxembourg.

Visitors flock in all around the year to take a look at this castle. The Handicapped and weakly sighted visitors are taken special care of at the site.
