Hoopoe, Panda and Siberian Tiger on Chinese Coins

China issued 25 Yuan 1/4 oz. Gold and 10 Yuan 1 oz. silver colourized coins featuring Hoopoe bird in 2000. 8,800 gold coins and 10,000 silver ones were minted. The bird is on a branch, with flowers in the background and a blank mirrored field. Only 20 out of 71 graded coins are Proof 69 which is far less in comparison.There are many Chinese coins and medals that celebrate the country’s wildlife. The Chengdu Mint is situated in Sichuan Province where a lot of Pandas are found. This Mint produced an 80 mm diameter brass medal featuring a Panda. Shenyang Mint from northern China is where a lot of Siberian Tigers were once found. Medals featuring this magnificent animal were produced by Shenyang Mint which falls in this region. The mintage limit for both these medals is 800 pieces.
