Latest Romanian Coins Celebrate the Country’s 10th Anniversary in EU

Romania released a set of three coins (gold, silver and copper-plated tombac), a brass collector coin and a brass commemorative circulation coin to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Romania’s accession to the European Union.Obverse of the gold coin features the Brâncovenesc architectural style, the inscription “ROMANIA”, “100 LEI”, the coat of arms of and “2017”. Obverse of the silver coin is the same except for the denomination which is “10 LEI”. Similarly, obverse of the brass commemorative circulation coin is the same except for the face value “50 BANI”. The copper-plated tombac coin has a face value of “1 LEU”. The brass collector coin has a face value of “50 BANI” and comes with a special inscription of letter “N” to indicate that it is a collector coin. The common reverse features Member States of the European Union and the inscription “10 ANI DE LA ADERAREA LA UNIUNEA EUROPEANA”.
The brass collector coins have a mintage limit of 5,000. Brass commemorative circulation coins have a mintage limit of 1,000,000. Gold, silver and copper-plated tombac coins come together in a set of three coins. A total of 150 such sets were released and each set costs lei 2,100.00. The brass collector coin can be purchased for lei 10.00.
