Fine 1936 Wisconsin Commemorative Half Dollar Auctioned

One of the finest known 1936 Wisconsin half dollars, graded MS-68+, featuring an arm holding a pickaxe over some lead ore was sold for $14,100 by Heritage Auctions on 28th April.In 1936 many commemorative coins were struck including the Wisconsin Territorial Centennial Half Dollar, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Wisconsin Territory. Even though the coin features broad, plain fields, the coin was well-struck. The offered coin is six graded MS-68+. The coin boasts of pastel shades of blue, green, rose, and gold. It has a mark on the badger’s back due to which it did not get a higher grade. There are many coins of this type which are graded MS-68.
