Princely State of Jamkhandi

Jamakhandi state was a part of the Deccan State Agency of Bombay Presidency during the British Raj. It was a Maratha princely state founded in 1811. It was founded by Shrimant Gopalrao Patwardhan, this state name was derived from Jambukeshwar temple.

The ruler of this state bore the title of ‘Raja’. The royal lineage of this ruler belongs to Patwardhan Dynasty. The ruler of this state came from Ratnagiri district. Like all other princely states of British Raj, this state also issued revenue stamps for tax collection within the state borders.

This fiscal or revenue stamp was issued in Jamkhandi state in 1932 to 1933.
