Helen Beatrix Potter was an English writer, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist best known for her children's books featuring animals, such as those in “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”.In her thirties, Potter published the highly successful children's book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. And since then, Potter began writing and illustrating children's books full-time. Potter wrote about 30 books; the best known being her 24 children's tales. Potter's books continue to sell throughout the world in many languages. They are still famous with the young folks and her works are being retold in song, film, ballet, and animation and her life depicted in a feature film and television film!
The year 2016 saw the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of this gifted woman. The Royal Mint had come up with a series of coins struck especially for that.
This extremely adorable series is a collection of all five of the Brilliant Uncirculated 50p coins from the Beatrix Potter’s stories presented together within a specially designed case! This set includes the coin paying tribute to the author herself along with four more coins featuring some of her best-loved characters: Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Jemima Puddle-Duck.
Each coin has its own fold-out case, with facts about Beatrix and her little tales. And what’s more, the full set has been brought together in a collection box, decorated in the style of Beatrix’s own illustrations!
Well...aren’t these coins just adorable!
