Nature is a beautiful work of art created by God. Birds and butterflies are its ornaments. But humankind for his benefits and greed is destroying this beautiful masterpiece.

Since a long time birds are either shot down and used as a showpiece or trapped inside cages as pets, turning them away from their natural habitat of flying.

Killing and collecting butterflies is another cruel hobby. They are caught, killed and then stuck on a book in a mirror case or on walls as a showcase. Measures are now being taken to encourage people to refrain from such hobbies.

Ajman State issued a commemorative butterflies and birds stamp set on 17th July 1972. They range from value 3 to 50 United Arab Emirates Riyal each. These are Air Mail stamps and have beautiful images of rare birds and butterflies.

Located in the United Arab Emirates, the Emirate of Ajman is the smallest emirate in the UAE and is located along the Persian Gulf. Ajman State and its Dependencies issue stamps in the name of Emirates Post.
