Elijah Wood, born on 28th January 1981 is an American actor best known for playing Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He has been appearing in films since childhood after performing at an International Modeling and Talent Association in Los Angeles.

Though he had a small role in Back to the Future Part II (1989), his first major role was Avalon (1990). This made him an in-demand child. Unlike most actors, he managed to keep his versatility intact and captured audiences even as an adult actor with films like The Ice Storm (1997), The Faculty (1998). His best works have been Lord of the Rings (2001-2003) and voice of Mumble in Happy Feet Parts I and II (2006 & 2009).
