Year of the Rooster Celebrated on United Nations Stamps

The year of the rooster which begins on 28th January and ends on 15th February 2018 is celebrated on the latest and the 8th pane of stamps issued under the Chinese Lunar Calendar series by the UN postal administration on 13th January.The pane contains 10 $1.15 international-rate stamps to be used from UNPA post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City. The design features a blue U.N. emblem on a white background and the inscription “2017”. Chinese artist Yan Bingwu created a symbolic rooster with calligraphy in gold on a red background.
Selvage of the pane features a design that repeats the rooster and calligraphy. Another writing reads “Chinese Lunar Calendar” and “Celebrating the Year of the Rooster 2017”. The pane is designed by Sergio Baradat.
