A colourful 1935-Indian Head 5-cent coin graded MS-67+ was sold for $11,456.25 on 15th December at the Legend Rare Coin Auctions. The coin belonged to a collection of beautifully toned coins that were collected over 10 years by Andy and Alynne Skrabalak of Angel Dee’s Coins and Collectibles.

“Buffalo nickels” from Denver and San Francisco Mints are generally weakly struck unlike similar coins from Philadelphia Mint. The coin offered at the auction was the only Mint State 67+ example out of the 10 million coins that were struck. 38 such coins have been graded MS-67.

The obverse and reverse wonderful shades of pink, green, blue, orange, violet, and gold with a strong and bold lustre. The surfaces do not have any marks.
