Vijayanagar was one of the powerful kingdoms in the South, still remembered for its great administration and massive architecture. It was founded by two brothers, Harihara and Bukka, on the south bank of the River Tungabhadra in 1336 AD.A Gold Pratap Half-Hon, 1.96g, of King Sri Ramchandra, a king of the Sangama dynasty of Vijaynagar Empire, auctioned for INR 245000 in an auction held at Pune on 23rd December 2023.
The obverse of the coins features Narayana seated in Padmasana with consort Lakshmi on his left thign. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the Devnagari legend “Sri pra/ ta pa ra ma/ cha(m)dra.
