Mount Everest is the earth's highest mountain above sea level, located in the Himalayas' Mahalangur Himal sub-range. It is known as the highest peak in the world. Mount Everest is on the crest of the Great Himalayas of southern Asia. It lies on the border between Nepal and Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The weather and climate of Mount Everest are extremes. Trekkers enjoy climbing Mount Everest. Mount Everest has variations in snow level, gravity deviation, and light refraction, among other factors.

On April 15, 1973, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary by issuing the Mount Everest stamp.
