Handball is a team sport in which a team has seven players, each including the goalkeeper. These players pass the ball by their hands to score a goal. A standard handball match consists of two halves of 30 minutes, and the team with more goals wins.

Handball is played, on a court of 40 meters, with a goal at each end. The goal is of a 6-metre zone where only the keeper is allowed. Handball is an indoor sport. It is a very high-scoring and fast sport. Body contact is permitted only to the defenders trying to stop the attackers. Equipment like bands, pads and mouthguards for protection.

Men's handball was played first in the 1936 Summer Olympics and then in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Women’s handball was added in the 1976 Summer Olympics. Since then, handball is an Olympic sport.

The above stamp is a Postal Tax stamp. It is a multicolour stamp. It was issued on 4th November 2013 by Serbia and has a face value of 10 Serbian dinars. The stamp portrays a girl with a handball in her hand, the handball logo, the logo of the handball women's world championship,2013 and its face value is in the top left corner.
