2022-12-22 Thu
One of the most significant beverage crops in the world is coffee. It is indigenous to the Southern Ethiopian highlands. Its name comes from a highland region of Kaffa, where it was first cultivated.India's second-most significant beverage crop is coffee. The first commercial coffee plantations were established in the 18th century by British businessmen. Coffee plantations are obliged to be in tiny areas due to the limitations of agroclimatic settings. It is cultivated in environmentally delicate areas of the Western and Eastern Ghats beneath a strong natural shade cover.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are the top three producing states of coffee. Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and the North Eastern States are now also home to coffee plantations. Indian Coffee was featured on a commemorative scent stamp released by the Department of Posts.
