Satyendra Nath Bose Commemorative Stamp

Satyendra Nath Bose was an Indian scientist, mathematician and physicist specialising in theoretical Physics. He founded quantum statistics in 1924 when he discovered a new way to derive Planck’s radiation law. In 1924, he sent his theory to Albert Einstein, who recognizes his significant discovery in quantum mechanics.He had a wide range of interests in various fields like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy, Art, Literature, Music etc. He served on many research and development committees in sovereign India. In 1954 the Government of India awarded him the second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan.
The Government of India issued this commemorative stamp in 1994 to commemorate him and his work.
