Nandalal Bose was an Indian Painter who fought against all odds to pursue his passion. He was one of the pioneers of modern Indian key figures of Contextual Modernism. He trusted his passion and ability and turned out into the most celebrated Indian painter of the 20th Century. He was deeply influenced by murals of the Ajanta Caves.
During the course of his wonderful career, Bose also earned the trust and respect of the Indian Government. He was honored with Bharat Ratna and Padmashri by the Government of India. He was also awarded, with Padma Vibhushan for his amazing contributions to modern Indian art in 1954.
