Pacific Area Travel Association (PATA) is responsible for the development of travel and tourism in the Asian Pacific region, established in 1951 in Hawaii. In 1953 its headquarters were moved from Hawaii to San Francisco. It is the largest travel promotional organization in the world.It was incorporated to develop, promote, and facilities to travel within Pacific RIM in 1951 as a non-profit and non-political organization. PATA provides marketing, research, and educational opportunities to a membership of government tourist offices, airlines, hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, and related companies.
The Government of India issued this commemorative stamp on Pacific Area Travel Association (PATA) is responsible in 1966.
