US Double Denomination

Is this a USD 50 note, or a USD 100 note, or maybe both? This is a classic US error banknote that has grabbed a lot of attention. A double-denomination error national bank note starred in the recent IPMS auction.

U.S. federal double-denomination notes are known in many combinations of currency types and series dates and in various denomination combinations. The banknote is among the first USD10 National Bank Note issued by The First National Bank of Hawaii at Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii (1900), signed by Cecil Brown (President) and W.G. Cooper (Cashier).

The vignette at left shows Benjamin Franklin conducting the famous Kite experiment and large numerals on the reverse which is the issuing bank's national charter number, also shown in the note's border engraving.
