Ram Manohar Lohia

Ram Manohar Lohia was a socialist political leader and activist of the Indian Independence Movement. He was one of the prominent figures in social politics and a movement towards Indian Independence. He was actively involved in the Congress Socialist Party (CSP), a left-wing group within the Indian National Congress. He got arrested by the British for an anti-British remark in 1939 and 1940, for opposing the Indian participating on the side of Great Britain in WWII.

Ram Mohan Lohia was one of the founders of the Congress Socialist Party. In the year 1936, he was selected as the secretary of the Foreign Department of All India Congress Committee by Jawaharlal Nehru. Much of his career was devoted to combating injustice through the development of a distinctly Indian version of socialism.
