The Battle of Tukaroi is also known as the Battle of Bajhaura or the Battle of Mughulmari. This battle was fought between Mughal Emperor Muhammad Akbar and Bengal Sultanate Daud Khan Karrani on 3rd March 1575, at Tularoi village, currently situated in the Balasore district of Odisha. Mughal army was successful in winning this battle over an army of Bengal Sultanate.
During the reign of Muhammad Akbar; Daud Khan Karrani was the ruler of the Bengal Sultanate. As Daud Khan Karrani was a great ambitious ruler, he wanted to rule over the whole Subcontinent. He captured the Zamania Fort which was a frontier post of the Mughal Empire. The seized of the fort of Zamania gave Akbar the cause for the war.
