Auction of Numismatic Books and Key Renaissance Medal Catalogues on 24th and 25th June

A famous 1930 two-volume book called A Corpus of Italian Medals of the Renaissance Before Cellini by George Francis Hill will be sold at estimate price of $1,500 at the Kolbe-Fanning auction which is scheduled for 24th and 25th June. The vintage books published by the British Museum include detailed information about 1,333 medals. The book also talks about the known varieties of medals produced by Italian artists from 1390 to about 1530.The Gustave Dreyfus Collection: Renaissance Medals, published by Oxford University Press, which is currently with the Samuel H. Kress Collection at the National Gallery of Art, will also be sold at an estimate price of $2,000. The book covers 667 individual Renaissance medals.
A set of 29 books called A Catalogue of the Greek Coins in the British Museum is considered to be the most important standard reference work on ancient Greek coins. The set has an estimate price of $1,800.
A first edition set of Coins of the Roman Empire in the British Museum, published between 1923 and 1962 is estimated at $1,000.
Several other eminent catalogues and books like these would be sold at the event.
