The 500000 Dong of Vietnam was issued in 2009 by the State Bank of Vietnam, it’s a polymer banknote.
The obverse of this note depicts the legend in Vietnamese script printed at the top centre, which reads “Cong Hoa Xa Hoi Chu Nghia Viet Nam” (Socialist Republic of Vietnam). The portrait of Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969), a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader who was Chairman and First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Vietnam, to right. Vietnamese emblem (Coat of Arms) is seen with denominational value in words and serial number at left. This brown and green banknote has a floral design in the background. br>
The reverse of this note illustrates bank name “Ngân Hàng Nhà Nuoc Viet Nam” (The State Bank of Vietnam) in Vietnamese script at the top. Ho Chi Minh's birthplace in Kim Lien near Nghean Province is illustrated in the centre with traditional floral decoration seen at corners with denominational values in numbers on the top left and bottom right corners.
