Roll of 5-cent Coins with Philippines 20-centavo Coin

A coin collector recently collected 5-cent coins and 100 rolls containing 4,000 coins. The coins included a 1911 Liberty Head 5-cent coin in Good condition, a Proof 1961 Jefferson 5-cent coin with no marks or unusual toning, a 1939 Jefferson 5-cent coin graded About Uncirculated 58, three 1938 Jefferson 5-cent pieces Extremely Fine 45, two 1944-D 20-centavo pieces in the same hand-wrapped roll etc.

The United States had minted World War II coins for the Commonwealth of the Philippines. They are smaller in diameter than a U.S. 5-cent coin so they fit nicely in the roll. The obverse features a female standing beside a hammer and anvil. Other inscriptions include ‘TWENTY CENTAVOS’, and ‘FILIPINAS’. Mount Mayon as an active volcano is also depicted.

The reverse features an eagle with open wings above a shield. Other inscriptions include ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ the date below and the D Mint mark
