This Silver rupee issued by William IV in the year 1840 is listed for INR 6,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla that will be held in Mumbai on 30th August 2020. This silver rupee is a mule coin. The mule coin can be defined as the coin which has obverse die of one coin and revere die of another coin. Such coins are produced when two or more different (face) coins of the same denomination are being produced almost concurrently by a mint. In other words, it can be defined as Coins minted with obverse and reverse design of two different dyes are known as Mule Coins. Normally, these coins are not frequently seen. The mule coin can also be considered as the error coins; such types of error are rare as compared to other types of errors. The obverse side of this coin is created by using the die of William IV, silver rupee of the year 1835.
