Bahawalpur was a Princely State during the British rule in India. Today it is located in the Punjab Provinces of Pakistan. It was ruled by the Abbasi family of Nawabs until 1955 CE.State Bahawalpur was established during the 18th Century Muhammad Bahawal Khan II asserted his independence from the Afghan. The independence was short-lived, however, as the state came under British influence around 1820.
State Bahawalpur is well known for its rich architectural legacy and monuments which was left their Nawabs. This place is also well known as the important place of archaeological sites. The region contains the ruins of Indus Valley Civilization; it also has ancient Buddhist sites such as PatanMinara.
This silver rupee was issued from Princely State Bahawalpur by Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V during his rule in Princely State Bahawalpur. The weight of this silver rupee is around 10.8g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Toughra Sir Sadiq Mohammad Abbasi Khan with sanah 1343’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘ZarbMumlikatKhuda dad Bahawalpur and value Yak Rupya’.
