Play School Coins issued by Royal Australian Mint

Australia’s oldest-running children’s show - Play School's 50th anniversary was celebrated by the Royal Australian Mint with the release Fifty cent collector coins featuring Jemima, Big Ted and Little Ted and Humpty.The famous Play School presenter Simon Burke unveiled the coins on Sunday. The coins are not for general circulation but can be bought form the Mint directly. Play School was first aired in 1966 and since then it has a special place in every Australian’s heart.
The colourful coins were designed by Bronwyn King along with a team of designers and graphic artists. Original toys were depicted on the coins and a style guide helped in making the designs fun and appealing to kids.
