ValldelMadriu is also term as MadriuPerafitaClaror Valley is a glacial valley in the southeast of Andorra. Geographically, it covers 9 percentage of the total area of Andorra which is 42.47 square kilometers. The valley is recognized as a home to rare and endangered wildlife.

The valley is surrounded by mountain ridges to the south, east, and west. Its southern edge touches Spain’s border. The other part is covered by Andorra and can only be reached by tracks passable on foot. The valley is a glacial landscape, with high pastures, craggy cliffs, and steep wooded valleys.

The valley was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004 and became Andorra’s first and to date only UNESCO site.

Andorra issued a series of stamps on ValldelMadriu in between 2004-2005. The showcased stamp was issued on 22nd January 2004. It is designed by D. Alex Tena.
