Samoa’s Pacific Games commemorative Banknote

The Central Bank of Samoa issued a special commemorative note in the year 2019 to commemorate the Pacific Games.

The pacific games or formerly known as the South Pacific Games with participation exclusively from countries around the Pacific Ocean. It is held every four years and began in 1963. Every year different countries host the event. The sixteenth edition of the Pacific Games was hosted by Samoa. The host country, hence, issued a special commemorative banknote.

This Commemorative (10 Tala) Polymer Banknote released by the Central Bank of Samoa is the first of its kind. This Banknote is the first such issue in which environmental impact was a consideration in its printing/production. The Banknote design also celebrates the youth of Samoa and the Nation's sporting legacy.
