The Ocean Reflects Your FaceYour Face Reflects the Ocean
The serenity of the ocean reflecting on a woman’s face is perfectly captured on this banknote of Comoros. Comoros is a volcanic archipelago off Africa’s east coast, in the warm Indian Ocean waters of the Mozambique Channel. The nation is surrounded by the ocean which has become a part of their day to day life.
The Comoros Franc is the official currency of Comoros. The banknotes of Comoros depict different aspects of their people’s lives along with the monuments, ecology, art, and craft and important people of the nation.
The banknote shown above is the 2500 Francs banknote issued in the year 1997 by the Central bank of Comoros. The banknote depicts a woman wearing a colorful scarf at left with a landscape of the ocean in the background. Sea turtle at lower left-center is depicted on the reverse which is on the shore. The reverse of the banknote is inscribed with the promissory note in French and also with Arabic.
