The 50th anniversary of Star Trek was celebrated in a very special way by Royal Canadian Mint with the issue of special commemorative coins. The first in the series features Captain Kirk, played by William Shatner. The coin was revealed earlier this month by William Shatner himself.

More than USA, Canada seems to be more excited about the 50th Anniversary of this popular series, since they have already issued several commemorative Star Trek coins and stamps.
