The United States of America had issued this USD1 commemorative coin with the theme of agriculture in the year 2009.For the Native American, Culture Agriculture had always been an important subject. The culture of Native Americans emphasizes living with the land and also understands the surrounding of natural resources. When European first arrive in ‘New World’ on a factor which benefited their relationship with the Native Americans was sharing the agricultural information. The colonists couldn't survive in the New World without the support and knowledge gained from Native American agricultural techniques.
The Agricultural activities which Native Americans practiced are crop rotation, round cropping, hybridization, seed development, irrigation method and many other agricultural techniques that are still used today.
The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of Sacagawea design that was first produced in 2000. The reverse of t his coin depicts Native American woman planting seeds in a field of corn, beans, and squash.
