Vasudeva I was the ruler of the Kushan Empire; He ruled this empire from 191 CE to 232 CE. King Vasudeva, I ruled the northern part of India and started issuing coins. During his reign, he dealt with the power of the Sasanians Empire and the power of Kushano-Sasanians increased in the northwestern of this territory.This gold dinar which weighs around 7.9g was issued by King Vasudeva I during his reign in the Kushan Empire. The obverse of this coin depicts standing king facing towards left, making an offering at an altar to left, holding a trident in the right hand; Bactrian Greek legend ‘Shaonanopao Bazodeho Koshano’ around. The reverse side of the coin depicts standing Shiva facing before Nandi, the bull; holding a trident in right and noose in left, taught in upper left field with Esho/Oesho in Bactrian greek.
