2020-02-25 Tue
Kavad II was Shah of the Sasanian Empire reigning from 628. He was born as Sheros in 590 to Khosrow II, the last prominent king (Shah) of the Sasanian Empire, and Maria, a Greek woman, who was reportedly a Byzantine princess.Today on 25th February in the year 628, Sheroe along with his commander captured Ctesiphon and imprisoned his father. He then proclaimed himself as shah of the Sasanian Empire and assumed the dynastic name of Kavad II. Kavad's reign is seen as a turning point in Sasanian history, and has been argued by some scholars as playing a key role in the fall of the Sasanian Empire.
