Octagonal 1852 Gold $50 Slug Set For Sale

The 1852 United States Assay Office of Gold $50 octagonal slug is all set to steal the show at the Cowboys & Indians & Miners collectibles sale which will be held on 13th to 14th May by Holabird Western Americana Collections LLC.The engraved gold slug is one of the most sought after coins by collectors who like gold coins. The six-line inscription on the reverse includes, ‘FATHER's FIRST EARNINGS / IN / CALIFORNIA / TO / WALLY / OCT. 14, 1869’. The coin is a 900 THOUS Reeded Edge variety and has an estimate value of $45,000 to $90,000.
Apart from the engraved slug, many other coins like the Harris silver ingot carrying a pre-sale estimate of $55,000 to $75,000; Sharon silver dinner plate ingot carrying carries an estimate of $5,000 to $10,000 etc. will be on sale at the show.
