David Crenshaw Wins the ANA Presidential Award

On April 16th, the American Numismatic Association officially appreciated the contributions and efforts of Mr. David Crenshaw in the field of numismatics by honouring him with the ANA Presidential Award.Crenshaw was 10 years old when he began his hobby by picking out his first blue Whitman folder. Three years later, he began a mail-order business by selling error coins with a catalogue titled Nobody’s Perfect. This business supported him financially during his high school and college days.
After his business administration studies, he worked at a coin store in Atlanta. The then started studying computer programming and analysis. Post that he had a successful career as a programmer with Honeybaked Ham and other companies as he kept himself busy in numismatics, coin clubs, editing newsletters, and volunteering whenever he got time in parallel.
In 2004, he was hired as a programmer for Whitman Publishing. He was later given the responsibility to manage the grand event of Whitman Coin & Collectibles Expo, and was eventually made the general manager. He worked there for nine years after which he worked as the COO at the Industry Council for Tangible Assets. He travels around the country to meet with coin clubs, deliver presentations, and provide legislative testimony on matters of great importance to the study of numismatics.
Not only that, he keeps sharing his knowledge to fellow collectors whenever possible and writes interesting numismatic articles as well.
