New 2,000-peso Note Introduced by Uruguay

As per an official press report that was released on 27th April 2016, the Banco Central del Uruguay has announced that they would introduce a revised 2,000-peso series B note (B553) dated 2015. The note would be similar to the existing note (B551) of the same denomination with some additional security features.The security features include the denomination which will act as a registration device, a holographic windowed security thread, translucent features, map of Uruguay in OVI, iridescent stripes and intaglio marks for the visually impaired.
When the new notes are released, ‘Series A’ notes will continue to be circulated in parallel.
