Nepal Commemorates 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti

Nepal is the latest nation to join the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Celebration this year as the nation has issued a set of three commemorative coins on the Birth Anniversary of the Holiest Man of the Sikh faith.In special ceremony coins of 2,500, 1,000 and 100 Nepali rupees were launched in Kathmandu by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal and Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri. Coins are issued both in silver and gold.
Launched on 27th September 2019, the coins depict the national emblem of Nepal on the obverse along with the name of the country and the issuing Authority. The reverse of the coin depicts the inscription commemorating the occasion along with the denomination and the years “1469 and 2019” at the bottom.
