The Star Wars sage Yoda makes a special appearance, this time not in a movie but on a new New Zealand mint coin, issued as a legal tender for the island nation of Niue. On 18th April, Proof .999 fine silver $2 coins, Proof .9999 fine gold $25 coins and Proof .9999 fine gold $200 coins were announced. This would be the third coin in the special series that is celebrating the latest Star Wars movie.

The coins feature Yoda training Luke Skywalker on the swamp planet of Dagobah. The obverse features the common Queen Elizabeth II effigy. The silver coin costs $85, the quarter-ounce gold coin costs $600 and the 1-ounce gold $200 coin costs $2,500. Mintage is limited to a very few numbers.
