Birth Anniversary of Shriram Sharma Acharya

Shriram Sharma Acharya, founder and patron of All World Gayatri Pariwar, was born on 20th September 1897. He led the way to restoration of spirituality and creative integration of the modern and ancient sciences and religion.The Acharya established the Shanti Kunj at Haridwar as an academy for experiments in national resurgence. People take advantage to the moral teachings provided at Shanti Kunj.
An active participant of many socialist and independence movement and campaigns, he suffered imprisonment many times. He was active participants of Salt Satyagraha and Non Cooperation Movement. Fellow freedom fighters nicknamed him "Matta" (the Intoxicated, obsessed, completely devoted to the idea of a Free India) on account of his dedication and devotion.
He authored a special set of 40 books highlighting the future of the world and conveying the message of the dawn of the New Era of Truth during the 21st Century. To honor him India Postal Department has issued a 100 Paise commemorative postage stamp in 1991. It depicts the portrait of Shriram Sharma Acharya and logo of All World Gayatri Pariwar.
