J.M.W. Turner to Feature on New 20 Pound Note

J.M.W. Turner, one of the most influential British artists of all time will appear on the new £20 polymer note which will be introduced in 2020. His brilliant works bridged gaps between the classical and modern worlds.The reverse of the note will feature J.M.W. Turner’s c. 1799 self-portrait which is currently displayed in the Tate Britain; another painting, ‘The Fighting Temeraire’; his quote - “Light is therefore colour” from an 1818 lecture by Turner and his signature from his Will.
